This year marks the 125th anniversary of the infamous Johnson County Cattle War and a symposium and a reenactment vignette has been planned for September 15th and 16th.
The symposium will be held on Friday the 15th at the Bomber Mountain Civic Center and will feature a panel discussion that will include authors John W. Davis, Tim Slessor, Pete & Alan Simpson, Bill O’Neal, Bill Markley, and Phil Roberts.
The panel discussion is scheduled for 10am until noon.
At 5:30pm that evening, a dinner is planned with a discussion of the descendants of those who were there during the 1892 battle.
The following day, the reenactment vignette will highlight the siege and surrender at the historic TA Ranch south of Buffalo on old Highway 87.
Tickets for the panel discussion are $25 per person, with $35 the price for the dinner presentation. The reenactment will cost attendees $15.
Tickets are available at Jim Gatchell Memorial Museum, the TA Ranch, and the Buffalo Chamber of Commerce.
