According to Novotny, that would make the State of Wyoming a Lake DeSmet partner and would share in the operating costs for the recreation area.

It would then be possible for the state to assume control of Healy Reservoir and could possibly contract with the county to operate that recreation area as well…

In support of Novotny’s comments, the county has seen nearly an 80% increase in revenue from the campground at Lake DeSmet in the past two years.
