The Johnson County Commission approved funding requests for the optional 1% funding at its meeting yesterday morning.
After awarding more than $223K to non-governmental organizations and another $646, 424 to Johnson departmental requests, the Commission was pressed by former CPA Bill Dooley on historical 1% tax revenue that may have not been allocated in past year’s funding requests…
Dooley is suggesting that actual 1% tax revenue may have exceeded Commissioner estimates used in determining funds available for optional 1% funding requests.
Commissioner Linda Greenough disagreed with Dooley’s assessment but the Commission agreed that the should be researched.
