Retired CPA Bill Dooley appeared before the Johnson County Commission yesterday to address his concern that 1% tax revenue that exceeds the board’s annual allocation to county and non-profit organizations are not being handled appropriately.

Dooley believes it is inappropriate to move the excess funds amounting to $3 million to the general fund rather than make them available to organizations whose requests remained under-funded…

Assistant County Attorney Barry Crago asserted that the Commission had complied with Wyoming Statute; he also reminded the Commission and those in attendance that a group of citizens had a contradictory opinion on the use of 1% tax revenue when meeting with the Commission last year.

No action was taken on Dooley’s concern.
