James “Jim” Salstrom, 91, of Sheridan, passed away on Thursday, December 13, 2018, at his residence. He was born in Sheridan, WY to August and Dorothy (Toy) Salstrom on August 18, 1927. He joined the Coast Guard during World War II. He married Loretta Gabor on June 6, 1977.
Jim worked various jobs including Champion Funeral Home, Sheridan VA Hospital, Mullinax and Neuman Transit in Casper, WY. He enjoyed watching sports, news, and other TV programs.
He was preceded in death by his Grandparents, Parents Dorothy and August, Sister Winnie Miller, Children Pat Salstrom and Vicki Knight and Grandson Danny Salstrom. He is survived by his wife Loretta Salstrom, Grandchildren Michelle Knight, Michael Knight and Kimmie Salstrom.
A viewing will be held at 1pm prior to the service with Military Honors at 2pm on Monday, December 17, 2018 at Kane Funeral Home. A reception will follow immediately following the service in the Kane reception hall. After the reception burial will be in the Eagles section of the Sheridan Municipal Cemetery.
