Funeral services for Jim Corell, 90 year old Buffalo resident who passed away Thursday at the Amie Holt Care Center in Buffalo, will be held Friday, March 15th at 10:00 a.m. at the Harness Funeral Home Chapel in Buffalo with Bob Ruby officiating.  Interment will be in Willow Grove Cemetery in Buffalo with graveside services to be held on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.  Visitation will be at the funeral home chapel on Thursday from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m.  Donations in Mr. Corell’s memory may be made to the Occidental Jam in care of the Harness Funeral Home at 351 N. James Alton Corell was born on August 12, 1928 in Keokuk, Iowa to Harold and Bessie Kammer Corell.  He started school in Keokuk and the family moved to Sigourney, Iowa where he graduated from Sigourney High School with the class of 1945.  After high school he attended Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa where he earned a bachelor degree in business.  He was married in 1949 in Toledo, Iowa to Doris L. Moore and they made their home in Cedar Rapids while Jim was finishing his degree.  Jim worked at various jobs in Cedar Rapids and eventually was a vice president of People’s Bank in Cedar Rapid. Following a divorce in 1972 he was married on June 1st 1974 in Cedar Rapids to Kaye Buckley.  Jim and Kaye moved to Buffalo, Wyoming in 1976 and in March of 1977 they opened the Mexican Steer Restaurant which they owned and operated until 1987.  They moved to Reno, Nevada and after a divorce Jim moved back to Buffalo in 1994.  He was married in 1998 to Ruby Ruby and they lived in Buffalo.  Ruby passed away in March of 2015 and Jim continued living in Buffalo until his death.

Jim was a member of the Shriner’s Horse Patrol, he was an avid supporter of the Occidental Jam and the Buffalo Blue Grass Festival.

He is survived by three sons, Jeff Corell and his wife Cindy of Vacaville, California, Charles Corell and his wife Beth of Fort Dodge, Iowa and David Corell and his wife Tracy of Marion, Iowa; two daughters, Tricia Berlinger and her husband Clyde of Buffalo and Elizabeth Brown and her husband Bruce of Rhodes, Iowa; two stepsons, Bob Ruby and his wife Jean of Buffalo and Jerry Ruby and his wife Carol also of Buffalo; two stepdaughters, Vicki Atter and her husband Cole of Buffalo and Donnie McCarthy and her husband Jerry of Billings, Montana; one sister Ann Coleman of Beryville, Arkansas; twelve grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one brother, one sister.
