Jackie Skar Kitchens passed away on 8/13/17 at Sheridan Manor where she had lived for 2 years. She was 94 years old.
Jackie was born and raised in Sheridan and loved it here and loved being at the cabin her father built around 1930. In 1946 she met Bud Skar at Bear Lodge and they married in 1948. They had two daughters, many dogs and horses. They had 42 wonderful years together until Bud’s untimely death in 1990. Jackie was blessed with an opportunity to learn to paint – and learn she did! She created many paintings and even sold some. It was one of her favorite things to do. She also loved going to the cabin and enjoying family, friends and the loved Big Horn Mountains.
Jackie reconnected with an old friend, John Kitchens, and they were married and enjoyed some great years together.
Jackie is survived by her daughters, Paula (Jeff) Jones, Carol (Ed) Machalk; grandchildren, Brian (Melody) Jones, Chad Jones, Kristyn (Craig) Readshaw, Cody Machalk (furry pawed grandson); great grandchildren, Madison Jones and Annalice Jones. She is also survived by her 2nd husband, John Kitchens and his children Sherry (Tony) Everett and Perry (Jeannie) Kitchens and their children.
Jackie was definitely a bright and shining star on this earth and will truly be missed.
A graveside service will be scheduled in September.
