SHERIDAN, WY— On April 4, 2019, at approximately 7:43 a.m., the Sheridan Police Department responded to the report of a traffic crash with injuries at the intersection of East Colorado and Sumner Street. Initial reports indicated that an orange colored SUV struck a school bus and a juvenile passenger complained of an injured hip. The juvenile was transported by EMS to Sheridan Memorial hospital for evaluation.

The driver of the SUV fled the scene, parked approximately two (2) blocks away and fled on foot. The 35 year old female driver was located a short time later at her residence. The investigation revealed that the SUV was traveling northbound on Sumner Street and ran the stop sign at E. Colorado Street, striking the bus on the passenger side of the bus, towards the back.

The SUV was disabled from the crash while the bus sustained minor damages. The driver of the SUV was issued two misdemeanor citations, Careless Driving and Hit and Run. The driver of the SUV will make their initial appearance on April 22, 2019 in Municipal Court.
