On February 9, community leaders will join in discussions on how general aviation stakeholders facilitate the success of the community and how rural airports serve as a runway for economic development, job recovery, and emergency response.

This event also highlights the critical role of the airport and its tenant business’ in assisting throughout the COVID pandemic, during recovery, and beyond.

The event, called General Aviation Advancing America,  will take place at the Johnson County Airport for one hour beginning at 10am.

Ryan Waguespack, Senior Vice President, National Air Transportations Association, and Bruce McWhorter, Airport Manager, Johnson County Airport are scheduled to speak.

The discussion will center on how general aviation stakeholders can facilitate the success of the community and how rural airports serve as a runway for economic and job recovery and development.

A similar event at the Sheridan County Airport has not yet been announced.
