PRESS RELEASE:

SHERIDAN, WY— During the late morning of July 9, 2019, Sheridan County Sheriff’s Office deputies and Wyoming Highway Patrol troopers received notification from Montana Law Enforcement of a vehicle that eluded officers in the Billings area.

The Billings PD attempted to stop the vehicle pursuant to a case the Billings Police Department was investigating. The driver was identified as a female and she was last seen driving a white SUV with Colorado fleet plates.

Deputy David Cook observed the vehicle near Acme at approximately 12:30 pm and initiated a traffic stop. The driver eluded deputies and troopers through Sheridan on I90 and troopers successfully deployed spike strips near mile marker 38. The driver crossed over the median and traveled westbound towards Sheridan with 2 flat tires.

After the driver passed through Sheridan again, a deputy successfully deployed spike strips near mile marker 20. The driver eventually stopped near Acme, in the median of the interstate. She was taken into custody without incident and is currently charged with Attempting to Elude.

The female driver was the sole occupant and the case remains under investigation, with charges likely pending in Montana.
