An idea that was born out of bible study group composed of 6 young middle school age girls has raised more than $2600 for victims of Hurricane Harvey.

“Hope in the Hurricane” was the term to describe a toy sale that took place on Saturday at Summit Church in Buffalo.

Molly and Ashley Andrews, Grace Albright, Lilly Dunlap, Addison Hein, and Amaya Stensus put together the sale, complete with a silent auction of a variety of larger toy items that included a bike, a drum set,and an outdoor play set.

The funds will be put to work in Texas through an organization called Poured Out International.
