Gary L. Haskett, 71, of Sheridan, WY passed away on Thursday, July 19, 2018, at the Sheridan Memorial Hospital.
Gary was born on March 8, 1947 to J.T. and Helen (Blair) Haskett in Casper, WY. He grew up in Pavillion, WY. He was a head cowboy and a vet tech for Weschenfelder feedlot, overseeing the health and quality of hundreds of thousands of animals. Gary graduated from High School, marrried and then served in the Army during the Vietnam War. He was stationed in Taiwan from 1966-1969. He was proud of the fact he was a true cowboy and had great respect for all animals, loved the mountains, ranching, and training horses. Most of all he loved telling stories about his childhood, his life experiences, family and always talked about his Dad.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents J.T. Haskett, and Helen Blair, sisters Sharon Sheperson and Joy Ditton, brother Bobbie Jay Haskett, and grandson Adam Gene Haskett. He is survived by his daughter Janeen Haskett of Billings, MT, son Jim (Brenda) Haskett of Sheridan, WY, two grandsons, Jacob Haskett and Sam Haskett, four great grandchildren Aubriee, Archer, Tayven and Thatcher, sisters Cindy Schooner, Cody Campbell, and brother Culley Blair, numerious nieces and nephews.
A Viewing will be held at 8:30 a.m with Services at 10:00 am on Friday, July 27, 2018, at Kane Funeral Home with Pastor Scott Lee officiating. Interment will be in the Sheridan Municipal Cemetery with Military Honors. Western wear is ok….
