Upon the recommendation of the Sheridan County Fire Warden and the Fire Chiefs of the Rural Fire Protection Districts, the Sheridan County Commissioners have rescinded Resolution 18-07-026 which lifts the fire ban imposed on July 18, 2018. Effective midnight tonight, October 8, 2018, open burning will be allowed in Sheridan County.

As always, we encourage the public to practice sound safety measures when burning. The public should continue to be aware that burning should not be done on Red-Flag Warning Days or anticipated high wind days. It is important that you make the Sheridan Dispatch Center aware of when you are burning to prevent unnecessary callouts of the volunteer fire departments. You may do this by calling the Sheridan Dispatch Center at 307-672-2413.
