A multi-agency recovery operation has ended for a private aircraft crash southeast of Alcova Reservoir, southwest of Casper. A Wyoming Army National Guard Blackhawk helicopter was dispatched to the area. Members crossed heavily wooded terrain and arrived at the crashed scene. 49-year-old Brett Smith died when the single-engine plane he was piloting crashed in the rural area southwest of Casper. The National Transportation Safety Board will be investigating.
