Elsa Ruby, 81, passed away at the Westview Health Care Center on Wednesday, June 21, 2017. She was born November 24, 1935, in Monarch, WY to parents Paul and Olga (Takach) Sturtz. She attended grade school in Acme and graduated from Sheridan High School. On September 19, 1953, she married Louis Ruby in Sheridan. Their union was blessed with three son’s, Rocky, Steve, and Tom. Raising three boys was truly a passion for her.
Elsa enjoyed all the wildlife that would come around on a daily occasion. She was so caring for any baby animal that would show up on the door step and the bird feeder was always full.
Elsa enjoyed everyone she had met through her meetings and travels belonging to the “TOPS” Club, Inc. She never missed a tuesday night weigh in. The Early Bird bowling league met in the mornings once a week and she enjoyed all the fun and laughter with the team ladies. Elsa had the opportunity to help out with the cast filming “Wild Horses” with Kenny Rodgers in Sheridan. Her employment was working at the Holiday Inn and as a Realtor.
Elsa was preceded in death by her husband, parents, son, Tom Ruby, three sisters, Julia, Olga and Shirley and two brothers, Paul and Robert. She is survived by her two sons, Rocky Ruby, Steve (Beth) Ruby, grandson, Jason Ruby, her two sisters, Lucy Kobielusz, Bernice Kobielusz, and her brother, John Sturtz, and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to the Sheridan Dog and Cat Shelter, 94 East Ridge Road, Sheridan, WY 82801.
Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 10, 2017, in the Sheridan Municipal Cemetery with Reverend Kevin Jones officiating.
