Ella “June” Hale

Funeral services for June Hale, 86 year old Buffalo resident who passed away Friday at Johnson County Health Care, will be held Friday, December 14th at 2:00 P.M. at the Big Horn Baptist Church in Buffalo, Wyoming with Pastor Don Paulson officiating.  Visitation will be held from the Harness Funeral Home Chapel in Buffalo on Thursday, December 13th from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., and Friday from 9:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. Interment will be in the Willow Grove Cemetery in Buffalo, Wyoming. Donations in Mrs. Hales’s memory may be made to the Susie Bowling Lawrence Hospice or St. Francis Animal Shelter in care of the Harness Funeral Home at 351 N. June was born on October 19, 1932 to Earl and Valgene Hughes in Buffalo, Wyoming. She was the forth of six children, joining brother, Bill Hughes, and sisters, Jean Whitted, Pat Koch, Marilou Bernard and Phyllis Hepp.  She went to school in Buffalo, graduating from Johnson County High School.  She enjoyed playing the clarinet in the high school band.  After graduating she went to work for Mountain Bell telephone company as an operator; she retired in 1989.  June and John Hale married in July 1962.  To this union two daughters were born, Valorie and Stephanie.

June was a member of the Telephone Pioneers. She devoted her life to her family, immediate and extended.  She loved animals and was a caregiver to all she knew.  June was known for taking care of a beautiful yard, especially her roses.

She is survived by her daughters, Valorie Hale of Buffalo, and Stephanie McCoy of Wasilla, Alaska; as well as many nieces and nephews. June was preceded in death by her parents, husband John, and all her siblings.
