On Saturday afternoon, Mary’s wish to go home was answered when her late husband Vern came to take her to be with him. Mary Adamson, 96, passed away on October 6, 2018 in the Rock Creek Center at Sheridan Manor in Sheridan, Wyoming. Mary, the sixth of twelve children, was born on August 27, 1922 in Dayton, Wyoming to John Paul and Suzanna (Legerski) Jolovich.
Mary lived in the Dayton area her entire life. Mary married Vern Adamson on April 29, 1941 in Hardin, MT and lost him on March 9, 1984. Mary and Vern ranched in the Dayton area and moved to town in the fall of 1983. Over the years, Mary worked for the John Love’s at the Bear Claw Ranch and the Dan Scott’s at the Padlock Ranch. Mary enjoyed raising beautiful flowers at her home in Dayton and having coffee with her friends and neighbors at the Branding Iron Cafe.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband Vern, her parents John and Suzanna, her sisters – Agnes Janney, Rose Goodman and Betty Kelly and her brothers – John, Joe, Rudolph, Frank, Paul and Donald Jolovich. Mary is survived by her brothers Edward (Alyce) Jolovich of Torrington, WY and George (Joan) Jolovich of Pekin, IN, special nieces Susan (Mike) Barrett of Dayton, Deb Kelly & partner Dave Wartensleben of Sheridan, Sheryl (Carl) Morris of Cody, special nephew Richard (Cheri) Vine of Sheridan, special neighbor Leonard, friends Sally and Pearl, and numerous nieces and nephews and their children and children’s children.
A Graveside Service will be held at 2 PM, Thursday, October 11, 2018 in the Sheridan Memorial Cemetery with Father Clark Lenz officiating. A reception will follow in the Kane Funeral Home Reception Room.
