Della Ann (McClure) Poeling, 73, of Hot Springs, South Dakota passed away May 10th, 2017 at Seven Sisters Living Center in Hot Springs, South Dakota.

Della was born on September 6th, 1943 in Gillette, Wyoming to Earl and Donna (Sanburn) McClure. Della grew up with her family ranching north of Gillette and around the Sheridan area. She grew up a ranch girl spending time in the small towns of Recluse, WY and Biddle, MT.

In September of 1964 she married Larry McBride and they moved to Rockford, IL where they had two children Brenda and Donna. In 1968, she and her family moved back to ranch, north of Gillette, WY. While there, she had a son, John. She was a rancher’s wife and homemaker…she loved driving tractor.

In May of 1993 she married Harvey Poeling which resulted in a daughter, LaRae and 6 step children. In 2006 Della and Harvey sold her ranch north of Gillette and moved to Dayton, WY.  After

Harvey passed away in 2011 Della sold her home and moved to Hot Springs, SD. Della loved to go fishing, dancing, and always a good game of Canasta. She also loved to make quilts and give them to her family and close friends. Della way very kind and generous to all that she met and will be missed by all those that knew her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey James Poeling; her father, Earl Grant McClure and mother, Alta Fredonna (Sanburn) McClure; and her brothers, Dean LaVere McClure and Duane Earl McClure. She is survived by her brother, Dee Lee (Karen) McClure of Buffalo, WY; her children, Brenda (Dwight) Wynia of Hot Springs, SD, Donna (Stacey) Stanton of Hot Springs, SD, and LaRae (Jason) Hogan of Gillette, WY; 6 step children, Shannon Bones, Juston Poeling, Polly Brown, Margie Standley, Hugh Poeling, and Connie Guire; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Graveside Services for Della will be held at 1:00 P.M. Monday, May 15, 2017 in the Dayton Cemetery, Dayton, Wyoming with Pastor Paul Hayden officiating.  Online condolences may be written at www.championfh.com.  Arrangements are under the direction of Champion Funeral Home.
