An elaborate April Fool’s joke caught a few Buffalo residents “off-guard” yesterday.
Wyoming Magazine carried a story that the city had been purchased by Ben and Candace Kuntz for slightly more than $41 million.
The story included a picture of the “new” owner alongside Johnson County Commissioner Bill Novotny.
The alleged purchase listed “14 downtown properties, a gas station, general store, 2 hotels, and a burger joint”.
What it didn’t list were thousands of great citizens and only a few considered “gullible” for having fallen for the ruse.
