SHERIDAN, WY— The City of Sheridan’s City Administrator, Mark Collins, announced that he would not renew his contract with the city at the Sheridan City Council meeting on Monday night.

Collins’ announcement to not renew his contract coincides with a petition being filed with the city which, if validated, would bring Charter Ordinance 2202 up for a public vote. The City Administrator position would then be eliminated completely if a majority of council voted to eliminate Charter Ordinance 2158.

The petition, which was filed at 4:08 P.M. on Monday will be validated by city staff along with Kirvin & Kirvin Law Firm in Buffalo, WY to make sure that all signatures collected on the petition were valid.

City Councilor, Rich Bridger, made a motion for the city to begin the process to find another city administrator to take over Collins’ position after his contract ends on November 30th.
