Making city department a priority in calculating 1% funding was the goal of the Buffalo City Council this year.
According to Haskins, city departments in past years had to compete with non-city groups for 1% funds and it didn’t seem fair…
In an effort to address that issue, Haskins spoke of council’s resolution to provide no more than 25% of available tax revenue to civic or non-profit requests…
The 1% committee is currently in the process of hearing community organizational request
