Funeral services for Tony Pickering, 43 year old Sheridan man who passed away Thursday at the Sheridan Memorial Hospital, will be held Saturday, March 2nd at 11:00 a.m. at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Buffalo with Pastor Larry Sydow officiating. Visitation will be held at the Harness Funeral Home Chapel in Buffalo on Friday from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. A private family interment will be held in Willow Grove Cemetery in Buffalo. Donations in Tony’s memory may be made to the Sheridan City Animal Shelter in Care of the Harness Funeral Home at 351 N. Adams in Buffalo. Online condolences may be made at www.harnessfuneralhome.com
Antonio Tomask Pickering was born on March 10, 1975 in Spearfish, South Dakota to Cheryl Pickering and Bob Borgialli. He grew up and went to school in Sheridan and attended Sheridan High School. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1994 and served on the USS Coronado and the USS Merrill as a Fire Controlman. Tony served 12 years in the Navy and received an honorable discharge in 2006. After his discharge he returned to Sheridan and attended Sheridan College. He worked for a short time at the Sheridan V.A. Hospital in their housing units. He continued living in Sheridan until his death.
Tony enjoyed the arts, rock hunting, watching hockey, sports memorabilia, the Grateful Dead and spending time with family, friends and his dog. He was an avid traveler and also enjoyed spending time in the Big Horn Mountains. He was involved in his community and ran for Sheridan County Commissioner in 2018.
He is survived by his mother Cheryl Pickering and her husband Max McLain of Sheridan; his father Bob Borgialli and his wife Diana of Buffalo; two brothers Brad Borgialli of Buffalo and Travis Borgialli and his wife Agneiszka of Holly Ridge, North Carolina; his maternal grandmother Mona Pickering of Buffalo; his paternal grandparents, Robert Borgialli of Buffalo and June Gorsuch of Rapid City, South Dakota; his good friend Pam See of Sheridan; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; and his beloved dog Althea.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather Don Pickering and one aunt Cynthia Pickering.
