300 to 400 walkers will descend on Buffalo this morning…
They are the living kind and not those popular on television.
The American Volkssport Association will be walking the Mentock Trail and local residents are encouraged to find out more about this international organization and take part in either a 2k, 5k, or 10k walk on one of Buffalo’s nature trails.
Buffalo’s Lois Peterson explains the local walk is part of a larger area event that continues throughout the week…
Co-sponsored locally the Buffalo Pathfinders in partnership with the Johnson Couny YMCA, registration will begin at 8am and continue until noon in the Washington Park Pavilion.
Those participating in the walk will be transported back to town by the YMCA and the BATS buses at 3pm.
The AVA is this nation’s arm of a German club who enjoy “volksport” or the sport of walking.
